THE WHIFFWOOD FIELD GUIDE

You can't see a fragrance.
But you can follow one.

  1. Move into a whiff. Click or drag in the meadow, or use arrows / WASD. The gold bee is you.
  2. Read the breeze. The wind arrow points where scent travels. A bloom is usually upwind when your antennae light up.
  3. Lost the scent? Sweep sideways across the wind. Scent is a wandering ribbon, not a straight line.
  4. Get close, then taste. A bloom appears when you're near. Press Space or Taste within its glowing ring. Find all three to finish a flight.

Reveal scent (E) shows the whole ribbon for 3 seconds; it recharges in 7 seconds. Lantern mode keeps it visible and records an assisted flight. No time limit, lives or penalties for exploring.

Each garden has fixed bloom locations for repeatable routes. Shorter paths earn brighter wings. Restart starts that flight over; completed journal entries stay. P pauses; changing tabs pauses too.

A NOTE FROM THE MEADOW

Little antennae.
Big questions.

An original game inspired by 2026 research on finding odor sources in turbulent air: local whiffs can be intermittent, and remembering the breeze can help a searcher.

Our hand-built wandering scent ribbons are a playful model, not a scientific fluid solver or reproduction of a published navigation algorithm.
